Imagine yourself on an almost undiscovered 470-acre island in the heart of the Emerald Isle, with miles of fishing available just for you. It gets better. A two-minute walk puts you in the legendary bream swims which can be exclusively reserved, so you can prebait with the confidence that those fish are waiting just for you. It's not only bream. Roach, perch and hybrids are prolific. Again, catches of 70lb can be taken without putting a bream in your net. At peak time in May and June, it's possible to take double this weight. With all those other fish, it's no surprise that pike fishing is out of this world. The pike come readily to all techniques: fly, jerk baits, lures and traditional methods. Specimens of over 30lb have been taken. It is tremendous 'doubles' water. Anglers staying at Belle Isle have the added bonus of booking one of the well-equipped boats moored by the Bridge House. For disabled anglers, a special boat is available. There is no charge for fishing on the estate and boats without outboard engines are only £10 per day.
